This error is normally displayed on the front panel of your printer along with a warning message:
‘Black ink level sensor not working properly’.
The error means that the printer has detected an issue with the ‘PIP’ sensor which is the part that interfaces with the ink cartridge.
The printer has detected a fault with the PIP sensor which is located inside the printer where the ink cartridge is inserted.
This is a common issue on the HP Latex series of printers.
In our experience this error starts by appearing intermittently but if left will lead to a non-continuable error & may cause unrecoverable damage to ink cartridges.
Normally the PIP sensor will need to be replaced by a technician to resolve the error.
